At Hey Hush, we go beyond simple “no nasties”, “clean beauty”, or “natural” claims by scrutinising every ingredient against trusted global and local clean-beauty standards. Tween skin is still developing, so formulas must be gentle, simple, age-appropriate and effective — which means broad marketing claims alone aren’t enough.

Our vetting system reviews every product across four strict categories: Endocrine disruptors, skin irritants, pollutants, and broader potential health concerns. Some ingredients fall into more than one category, and while this isn’t an exhaustive list, it covers the key ingredients commonly found in tween products that we actively avoid. For tweens with known sensitivities or allergens (e.g. fragrance allergens, soy), we’ll highlight these — but it’s always worth double-checking product labels for any intolerances.
